An anonymous device identifier. On your first visit we generate a random identifier and store it in a first-party cookie on your device. It contains no personal information and is not derived from anything about you. Its only purposes are to let you see your own submission history and to prevent the same device voting twice on the same photo.

Photos you upload. The image file itself, plus the AI analysis generated from it, an optional nickname if you choose to enter one, and an optional broad region if you choose to select one. Nickname and region are entirely optional and only used if you make a submission public.

Ratings you give. When you rate someone else's photo we store the score alongside your anonymous identifier so that the vote cannot be cast twice.

Basic technical data. Our hosting provider processes standard server request data such as IP address and user agent for security, abuse prevention and reliability. We do not use this to build a profile of you and we do not combine it with your submissions for any analytical purpose.

When you upload a photo it is sent to third-party AI providers for content-safety screening and aesthetic analysis. Those providers currently include Google, OpenAI and Anthropic, accessed through Vercel's AI Gateway. The image is transmitted to them for the purpose of generating your result and is subject to their respective terms and data handling practices. If you are not comfortable with that, do not upload a photo.

The photo is stored in private cloud storage that is not publicly listable and cannot be browsed. It is served only through our own access-controlled route. A photo you keep private is never shown to another visitor, never appears in the gallery or leaderboard, and is never included in our sitemap or RSS feed.

If you tick the box to share a photo publicly, it becomes visible to any visitor of the site and may appear in the gallery, the vote queue and the leaderboard. Please understand that anything published publicly on the internet can be saved or copied by others, and that removing it later cannot recall copies that already exist.

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing an uploaded photo is your consent, given by choosing to upload it. Our basis for the anonymous device identifier and basic security data is our legitimate interest in operating the service and preventing abuse. Making a submission public is a separate, additional consent that you give by ticking the sharing box.

You can withdraw consent at any time by requesting deletion. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place.

Private submissions and their analyses are retained while the service operates so that you can see your own history, and are deleted on request. Public submissions are retained until you or we remove them. Reports and moderation records are kept as long as necessary to handle abuse. The anonymous device cookie expires one year after it is set.

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these, email legal@ratemyfeetai.com. Because we deliberately hold no identifying information about you, the practical way for us to locate your data is the anonymous identifier on your device — so please send your request from the same device and browser you used, and tell us roughly when you uploaded. If we genuinely cannot link the data to you we will say so rather than guess.

This site is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone under 18, and every upload is screened by two independent classifiers with instructions to reject the image if there is any indication the subject may be a minor. If you believe a minor has used this site or appears in any image on it, contact us immediately and we will remove it and take further action as required by law.

We use private storage, access-controlled delivery, parameterised database queries and transport encryption. No system is perfectly secure, and you should not upload anything whose exposure would seriously harm you.

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date shown on this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
