Across thousands of ratings the pattern is consistent: the highest-scoring photos are not the ones with unusual proportions, they are the ones that are well groomed and well photographed. Clean, evenly trimmed nails, moisturised skin with no visible cracking at the heel, and toes that taper smoothly from the big toe account for the majority of the gap between an average score and a strong one.

Arch definition and left-right symmetry are largely structural, so they are the traits you can least influence — but they also carry less weight than people assume. A high arch on a poorly lit, blurry photo still scores lower than a normal arch shot cleanly in daylight. If you want a higher number, fix the grooming and the lighting before you worry about your bone structure.

Foot type — Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Celtic or Germanic — is classified from the relative length of your toes and is descriptive rather than scored. It does not raise or lower your rating on its own, though Greek and Egyptian shapes tend to read as more balanced to human voters, which shows up in the public gallery averages rather than the AI score.
